Platinum Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Railcar Repair Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair railcars to ensure they meet safety, mechanical, and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on position ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect railcars to identify mechanical, structural, and safety defects
- Repair and replace worn or damaged components, including brakes, couplers, wheels, and undercarriage parts
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance in accordance with FRA and company safety standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical manuals
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
- Complete accurate maintenance records and repair documentation
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet repair schedules and quality standards

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a railcar mechanic, heavy equipment technician,



or similar mechanical trade preferred
- Working knowledge of railcar systems, including air brakes and couplers, a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings and repair manuals
- Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in outdoor conditions, including heights and confined spaces
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Valid driver's license required
