We are looking for a permanent full time General Labourer to start immediately in our well established, reputable manufacturing company in Calgary, working with a great group of people in a professional, safe environment. It is essential that the person we are looking for is very with familiar shop practices in metal manufacturing, has experience with forming machinery, a complete command of spoken and written English, very good interpersonal skills, pays excellent attention to detail and understands the need for accuracy.

It would be very favourable if you have experience working: in a small business environment, in manufacturing or the energy industry, working in a challenging and sometimes demanding position, operating tube and pipe bending or rolling machines.

Responsibilities and Duties

The work would include :

- Operating manual and power machines.




- Setting up and tearing down machines for specific bending processes.
- Maintaining and cleaning machines.
- Handling pipe, tube and structural steel, by hand and with cranes and forklift.
- Reading drawings, following templates, following work order instructions.
- Checking dimensions of raw materials and finished products.
- Understanding dimensions in Imperial and Metric systems.
- Use of measuring tapes, calipers, jigs.
- Cutting materials before and after bending (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
- Using band saws, cold-cut circular saws, shears, oxy-acetylene cutting, plasma cutting.
- Marking and packaging orders for shipment.
- Qualifications and Skills

Skills and experience required :

- Experience in operating bending, rolling and forming equipment would be a considerable asset, especially working with CNC machines.
- It is essential that the right candidate has experience in working in a shop environment and has a good safety record. This is not a dangerous environment but a proper respect for safe work practices and the safety of co-workers is very key.
- Journeyman tickets are welcome but not critical.
- Forklift experience
- Crane experience
- A solid understanding of math and geometry is required.

Job Type: Full-time
