Job Overview
We are seeking a an experienced and dependable journeyman welder to join our team. We are a busy steel fabrication and manufacturing shop looking for a skilled welder who takes pride in their workmanship, pays attention to detail, and can work efficiently in a production environment
Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join metal parts according to detailed schematics and blueprints.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute fabrication tasks.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and measuring devices such as micrometers to ensure exact measurements and fit.
- Operate plasma cutters, forklifts, cranes, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
- Conduct rigging operations for lifting heavy components using cranes or other mechanical means.
- Assist in machining processes when necessary, utilizing basic math skills for measurements and adjustments.
- Assemble fabricated parts into final products or structures while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman/Woman Welder with solid proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings required for fabrication tasks.
- Ability to operate plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, forklifts, cranes, power tools, hand tools, and other manufacturing equipment safely.
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools for precise fabrication work.
- Construction or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during fabrication.
- Valid certifications in welding (including MIG and TIG), rigging or crane operation are highly desirable.
- Robust attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be CWB certified.
