Sunny Faces Day Care is inviting candidates to apply for the position of Full time Assistant Supervisor. This is a leadership role that supports the daily operation of the program and works closely with children aged 2.5 years to 12 years, staff, families, and the Management Team.

This position carries a high level of responsibility, and confidentiality. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters appropriately and discreetly. The Assistant Supervisor must also be capable of acting in the Supervisor’s role during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of operations and compliance at all times.

Position Details

- This is a split-shift position with program hours from: 6:50AM – 8:50AM and 2:00PM – 6:00PM
- One hour per day and/or a maximum of 5 hours per week will be completed in the office for administrative tasks. These hours are scheduled by Management and may vary.
- The remainder of hours are spent in our School Age Program (6yrs-12yrs).
- Additional hours may be required based on operational needs
- This position is a 12-month employment role
- Primary location is Sunny Faces St. Benedict’s, with some hours at Rivercrest, as needed

- Demonstrate ability to manage sensitive and confidential information involving children, families, and staff with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to perform as Supervisor when the Supervisor is away, including overseeing staff, program operations, and compliance requirements
- Proven abilityto work under stressful circumstances and possessing strong problem-solving skills
- Assert strong leadership and communication skills with good command of written and oral language
- Support program quality, licensing compliance, and staff guidance
- Serve as a positive role model and consistently uphold Sunny Faces Day Care policies and values

Qualifications

- Registered RECE in good standing - must have 2 years field experience
- Must have 2 years Supervisory Experience - having an ECE Administration Certificate is an Asset.
- Ability to obtain Director’s Approval from the Ministry of Education
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Up-to-date Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Up-to-date medical and immunization records
- Working knowledge of CCEYA, 2014 (inclusive of updates), Occupational Health & Safety, and Sunny Faces Policies and Procedures

Pay: $31.95 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
