A Roof Over Your Head is seeking a compassionate and reliable Residential Support Worker to support individuals who have experienced homelessness or are precariously housed. This position works within an DOSD-funded Master Lease housing program and helps maintain a safe, stable, and supportive residential setting.

Responsibilities

- Provide respectful, person-centred support to tenants in maintaining housing stability.
- Build positive, professional relationships with tenants using trauma-informed and harm-reduction approaches.
- Provide practical support, information, referrals, and connections to community and social services.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of the residence and respond appropriately to concerns or emergencies.
- Support conflict resolution and de-escalation when required.
- Complete shift reports, incident documentation, and other program records accurately.
- Communicate relevant information during shift changes and with the program team.
- Support a clean, safe, and welcoming residential environment.
- Follow organizational policies, DOSD program requirements, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality standards.
- Promote tenant dignity, choice, independence, and participation in their housing.

Qualifications





- Relevant degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Community Services, Psychology, Addictions, Mental Health, or a related field OR 2–3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, poverty, mental health concerns, substance use, or other barriers to housing is an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred, and harm-reduction practices.
- Current First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain.
- Satisfactory background/vulnerable sector check as required.

Schedule & Compensation

$22.00 per hour on a 7-day rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
