About Aliva Psychotherapy:

Aliva focuses on deep therapy for weight management, eating disorders, food addiction, and support for GLP-1s and bariatric surgery. We are meticulously searching for an exceptional clinician who wants true professional freedom and a chance to build something that matters.

The Two Available Roles:

Note: The exact path will be determined in collaboration with the clinic owner.

Role #1: Senior Clinician

Caseload: 25 clients/week (ramped up over a 4-month period).

Responsibilities: Act as the first point of client contact, conduct full assessments, establish treatment plans, assign treating clinicians, and consult/create learning plans for junior therapists.

Role #2: Practice Manager

Caseload: 15 clients/week (initial intakes handled by the practice owner).

Responsibilities: Develop training plans for junior clinicians, assist with case management, and consult on treatment plans and psychodynamic healing relationships. Must-Have Qualifications

Registration: Full registration with CRPO, CPBAO, or OCSWSSW (RP-Qs will not be considered).

Experience: 5–10 years of full, unsupervised clinical experience.

Caseload History: A minimum caseload of 20–25 hourly therapy appointments per week for any four years in the last 10 years.

Billing History: Proof of billing at a rate of $185–$200/hour at some point in the last five years. Education & Therapeutic Approach

Education: Degree in clinical psychology, social work,



or psychotherapy/counseling from a recognized Canadian publicly funded university (international equivalents accepted with credential evaluation) OR from a private psychodynamic/psychoanalytic-oriented training institute in Ontario (Gestalt, Psychoanalytic, Jungian, Interpersonal, Relational, Adlerian, etc.).

Clinical Approach: Your primary mechanism of change must be psychodynamic, transference-focused, and/or relational (e.g., Psychoanalysis, Gestalt, Jungian, Existential, Object Relations, Attachment-Based, or DBT with active acceptance-change dialectic). Self-study, books, or occasional workshops do not meet this requirement; substantial formal education and supervised training are mandatory.

Nice-to-Haves

Management, supervision, or teaching experience with junior clinicians or staff. Lived or professional clinical experience with eating disorders, weight management, food addiction, GLP-1s, or bariatric surgery (hospital or community-based). Business management experience in marketing, finance, or HR. General experience with common psychological conditions (Bipolar, OCD, ADHD, personality disorders, trauma, DID, severe anxiety/depression).
