Field Service Technician – Montreal, QC

Papertech Inc. is growing!

As our customer base and service requirements continue to expand across Canada, we are adding technical resources to our Canadian Field Service Team.

We are looking for a Field Service Technician based in Montreal, Quebec to support customers across Quebec, Eastern Canada, and the United States.

As a Field Service Technician, you will represent Papertech as an on-site technical expert, providing service, troubleshooting, installation, and optimization support for our high-speed camera monitoring and inspection systems.

You will work independently in the field while collaborating with our technical, software, service, and sales teams. Strong technical skills, hands-on problem-solving abilities, and excellent customer communication are essential.

Workplace Type

- Remote, customer sites, and on the road
- Approximately 75% travel

Location

- Montreal, QC, Canada

Responsibilities

- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
- Provide onsite service and customer support
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and optimize vision systems
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting
- Assist with IT and network configuration
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting in industrial environments




- Prepare timely and detailed service reports
- Determine customer requirements and provide appropriate recommendations
- Build strong relationships with customers and paper mill operators
- Support installations, upgrades, and service projects across Canada and the United States

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 3–5 years of field-service experience, preferably in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or technical maintenance
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
- Experience with CCD cameras, machine vision, or industrial automation is an asset
- Robust communication and customer-service skills
- Class 5 driver's license
- Fluency in English and French
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Canada and the United States
- Ability to work independently at customer sites

Training will be provided on Papertech's specialized vision and inspection systems.
