Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Shop Labourer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support daily operations within our woodworking shop by assisting with material handling, equipment operation, and general warehouse tasks. Your contribution will help ensure efficient production flow and uphold safety standards across all activities.
Duties
- Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes, ensuring safe handling at all times
- Assist with order picking and shipping & receiving processes to maintain accurate inventory levels
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials and supplies within the shop area
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, cranes, and other equipment following safety protocols and warehouse management system guidelines
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks to move raw materials or finished products as needed for production or shipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to promote a safe and efficient environment
- Support construction-related tasks when required, including assembly or site preparation activities
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience or construction background preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory control processes is a plus
- Experience operating order pickers, clamp trucks, forklifts, cranes, or other heavy machinery is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and logistics operations is beneficial
