Camfil is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant / Analyst to provide cost analysis, strengthen financial visibility, and support informed business decisions across our manufacturing operations. This is a contract position with the potential to transition to permanent employment based on business needs and satisfactory performance.
Camfil is a global leader in clean air solutions. We design and manufacture commercial and industrial systems for air filtration and air pollution control, supported by manufacturing, research, sales, and service operations worldwide.
The Senior Cost Accountant / Analyst analyzes manufacturing and inventory costs, maintains standard costing data, and explains variances and margin performance. The role supports inventory controls, month end reporting, pricing, operational improvements, and the integration of acquired product lines. Working across finance, operations, procurement, sales, and service, this position provides transparent cost insights that improve decision making and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
- Maintain and update standard costs, bills of materials (BOMs), labour routings, and overhead rates across multiple product lines.
- Prepare annual cost roll‑ups and evaluate material, labour, and overhead absorption.
- Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labour efficiency, scrap, usage) and prepare variance explanations for senior leadership.
- Review preliminary gross margin performance by product, division, and entity to ensure results are accurately stated.
- Partner with operations to monitor key cost drivers and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Inventory Accounting & Control
- Conduct monthly inventory reconciliations, ensuring accurate valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Manage cycle count and physical inventory analysis; investigate variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure inventory costing is correctly recorded across manufacturing and field service locations.
Product Line Integration and Operational Support
- Support integration of acquired materials manufacturing line
- aligning standard costs and BOM structures
- evaluating margins, pricing, and inventory practices
- integrating acquired data into corporate systems
- standardizing reporting, controls, and accounting workflows
- Assist with due diligence activities requiring detailed cost and inventory analysis.
- Participate in system setup, testing, and process design for newly onboarded operations.
Financial Close & Reporting
- Complete month‑end close activities related to inventory, COGS, variances, accruals, and manufacturing P&L; review.
- Prepare and analyze cost accounting reports, operational KPIs, and service margin data.
- Research and resolve cost or inventory discrepancies and communicate findings to divisional controllers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 3 to 5 years of cost analysis or accounting experience in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOMs, routings, and inventory accounting
- Experience with large ERP systems
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
Pay: $85,000.00 per year
