Our AI-powered platform helps multilingual professionals practise high-stakes workplace conversations, receive personalized feedback and communicate with clarity and confidence when it matters most.

We are beginning with internationally educated nurses working—or preparing to work—in English-speaking healthcare environments. Our long-term ambition is to serve multilingual professionals across every communication-critical industry.

C. About the Role

You will work directly with the founder to design, build and scale Eklan’s core AI platform.

This is not a narrow model-integration role. You will influence our architecture, product, AI systems, engineering culture and technical strategy. You will move between understanding customers, prototyping new experiences, evaluating model performance and building reliable production infrastructure.

You will have significant ownership from the beginning and the prospect to shape both the product and the company.

D. What you will do

- Build and improve user-facing experiences across web, iOS and Android.
- Maintain backend APIs, database models and application business logic.
- Improve learner experiences and web-based tools for tutors and administrators.
- Support features including personalized practice, AI simulations, progress tracking, subscriptions and live-session workflows.
- Integrate AI, speech, payments, analytics and notification services.
- Maintain secure authentication, authorization and access controls.
- Diagnose production bugs and improve application speed, stability and reliability.
- Keep key user journeys consistent across web and mobile.
- Strengthen automated testing, monitoring, documentation and release processes.
- Support web deployments and mobile releases through the Apple App Store and Google Play.




- Use analytics and user feedback to assess whether changes improve the product.
- Communicate technical decisions, risks and trade-offs clearly.

E. Our technology

Our core stack includes TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native, Expo and MongoDB.

The role involves frontend development, backend APIs, database work and third-party integrations. You do not need to know every library we use, but you should have the foundations to become productive quickly.

F. What we are looking for

- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript skills.
- Experience building web applications with React and Next.js or a comparable framework.
- Hands-on experience developing mobile applications with React Native and Expo, or a comparable cross-platform framework, and willingness to work in our stack.
- Experience building backend APIs and working with databases.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization and secure application development.
- Confidence using Git, debugging production issues and writing automated tests.
- Ability to deliver complete features independently and collaborate effectively with others.
- Attention to usability, accessibility and product quality.
- Clear communication and the judgment to balance delivery speed with maintainability.

At least two years of professional software-development experience is preferred, but not mandatory. We welcome applicants with less experience who can demonstrate strong ability through shipped products, substantial projects or open-source contributions.

G. Experience that would be especially valuable

- Shipping and maintaining applications used by paying customers.
- Publishing iOS and Android applications.
- Building AI-enabled,



voice-based or real-time interactive products.
- Working with subscriptions, payments and third-party integrations.
- Using product analytics and error monitoring to prioritize improvements.
- Building multilingual applications.
- Improving an existing product in an early-stage startup.

Healthcare experience and AI model-training experience are not required. This is primarily a full-stack product-engineering role.

Your initial priorities will be agreed with the founder based on the product’s most pressing needs. Success will include:

- Becoming productive across our web, mobile and backend codebases.
- Resolving high-priority issues affecting learners and staff.
- Shipping useful improvements with appropriate testing.
- Making key user journeys more reliable and easier to complete.
- Improving visibility into errors, performance and user behaviour.
- Establishing clear documentation and dependable release practices.

We value working software and measurable improvements to the user experience—not simply the number of tickets closed.
