Overview
GTAdjusters has immediate openings for full time & part time remote Property Adjusting. We’re seeking highly motivated applicants with sufficient experience with investigations, coverage determination, liability assessments, damages assessments & client reporting over all aspects of weather related damages.
GTAdjusters is a stable, growing, long-term oriented, over 30-year-old established firm of claims professionals providing adjusting services Canada wide, to Canadian Insurer organizations. GTAdjusters continues to grow and also has opportunities for experienced insurance claims professionals in All-lines including Residential & Commercial Property, Commercial General Liability, Bodily Injury, Automobile & Professional Liability.
The successful candidate will be experienced and have the ability to be flexible with a schedule and available during general regular business hours. The successful candidate must be skilled in adjusting from first notice of loss to closure, at intermediate levels. The Insurer customer will require quality reporting, initiating communications & responsive service, while working remotely.
The position is remote from your area of residence and will require your use of a home office, cell phone and internet. You will be trained and develop competence with claims management system usage and full file updates with enclosures. Exposures are of intermediate to senior level and the candidate will need to be experienced at adjusting within a dynamic client base.
Time management is essential for interactions with departments that depend on timely reporting of exposures, notes, diary control, production reviews, securing authority, determining exposures and negotiating settlements.
The opportunity to work full time permanently is dependent on your availability and GTAdjusters has additional opportunities for successful adjusters to be promoted to supervisory roles for the right candidate after demonstrating consistent excellence in performance and technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and adhere to a diary system with excellent reporting and business writing skills
- Meet required timelines and reporting deadlines; respond to client and customer requests same day
- Think critically and assess evidence effectively
- Demonstrate attention to detail with a service-oriented, client-centric approach
- Engage frequently with clients, including through telephone conversations
- Investigate and act upon claim-related needs
- Identify appropriate investigating agencies, liaise with them, and manage relevant authorizations and documentation
- Learn systems quickly and organize electronic files efficiently
- Conduct file development in collaboration with desktop control/handling supervisors
- Review and complete reports before submitting for final review
- Interpret complex legal documents and perform advanced numerical analysis
- Prioritize and manage conflicting priorities effectively
- Provide proactive and timely customer service
- Handle conflict and difficult situations with strong interpersonal skills
- Build and maintain qualified relationships
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and responsiveness to clients and customers
Experience
- Proficient in claims management systems and Xactimate
- Experienced in maintaining detailed interactions and notes
- Claims adjusting experience with insurance company departments, corporate insurance claims departments, and Third Party Administrators
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills, including identifying cause-and-effect dynamics
- Solid investigative skills
- Advanced communication skills:
- Effective technical and business writing
- Strong oral communication, including listening, interviewing, and negotiating
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
