Position Summary:

The Peer Support Services program is seeking a Peer Support Worker to enhance services provided to clients in the community, including at partner organizations, and for people experiencing homelessness. The Peer Support Worker will: engage with and deliver 1:1 peer support for adults 16 years of age and over who self-identify as having mental health and substance use concerns, identify barriers to accessing services and assist clients with system navigation based on need, readiness, and preference; act as a role model in self-care and self-awareness; share knowledge of recovery values and principles with a focus on strengths and wellness; facilitate Recovery College course co-design, promotion, registration and evaluation, and deliver peer groups/courses/drop-ins.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess personal and lived experience of mental health/addictions and involvement/understanding of the criminal justice system.



Successful completion of a recognized Peer Support Training Program, including the completion of 50 hours of practicum is required. Experience providing peer support is required, a minimum of one year is preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for use in this position and/or access to timely transportation. The ability to provide French-Language services is an asset.

Pay: $40,840.00-$49,373.00 per year
