Duties
- Prepare fresh ingredients by chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning to support the kitchen’s meal assembly process
- Assist chefs and cooks with cooking tasks such as assembling dishes, plating, and basic food preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food products safely by following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by ensuring timely preparation of ingredients and supplies
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen well-equipped for smooth operations
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food industry standards and restaurant policies
Experience
- Previous food service experience or restaurant experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is key!
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and basic cooking techniques is advantageous
- Experience in meal preparation or working in a fast-paced kitchen workplace will help you succeed
- Knowledge of food safety practices ensures protected handling of ingredients and adherence to hygiene standards
