Quality Engineer
Location: Scarborough, ON
Salary: Depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities
Support the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with customer, company, and industry requirements.
Ensure products meet established quality specifications and customer expectations.
Evaluate process capability in collaboration with the Production team and support the implementation of capable manufacturing processes.
Review manufacturing and operating practices to ensure alignment with production and customer requirements.
Lead and participate in PFMEA development and updates.
Review customer drawings and specifications to determine appropriate gauging requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
Manage and support PPAP submissions, annual validation testing, MSA, SPC, and other required quality documentation.
Utilize and maintain working knowledge of inspection equipment, including CMM and Formtracer.
Investigate and resolve production and quality issues, including the disposition of non-conforming materials.
Implement corrective actions to address internal, supplier, and customer quality concerns.
Review and disposition internal production, supplier components, customer rejects, and sample submissions based on quality requirements.
Provide training, guidance, and development support to Quality Assurance personnel. Support the management of Quality Department employees, including scheduling, training, and performance reviews, as required.
Maintain a strong Continuous Improvement focus and contribute to achieving departmental and company quality objectives.
Ensure compliance with established health and safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of Quality Engineering experience within the automotive and/or aerospace manufacturing industry.
Strong CNC machining background or knowledge. Working knowledge and/or experience with ISO/IATF 16949 and/or AS9100 quality standards.
Hands-on experience with PPAP submissions, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, and other core quality tools.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Working knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Experience or working knowledge of CMM and Formtracer equipment.
Ability to review customer drawings and determine appropriate inspection methods, gauging requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
Experience interacting with customers and suppliers and supporting supplier development initiatives.
Robust problem-solving, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
Ability and willingness to travel to customer and supplier sites as required. Must have reliable transportation. Pre
