Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in young children
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support each child's individual needs
- Monitor and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones and observations
- Incorporate bilingual instruction (English and French) to support language development for diverse learners
- Manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior management strategies with patience and professionalism
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that align with early childhood education standards and special education requirements
- Utilize computer skills for record-keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including supervision during activities and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Level 1 ECE Certificate
- First Aid
- Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including classroom experience
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Bilingual fluency in English is highly desirable
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings is preferred
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for engaging children and collaborating with families
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within tight timeframes
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication tools
