Airswift is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Reliability Engineer to join a major Oil and Gas company in Fort McMurray, AB, on a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.
Position Summary
The Reliability Engineer will lead the development and sustainment of fixed equipment reliability strategies for Syncrude assets.
The role focuses on conducting and facilitating Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) assessments, analyzing equipment performance and failure data, identifying degradation mechanisms, and developing inspection and mitigation strategies.
This position requires close collaboration with Inspection, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Process Technical teams.
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering (or another engineering discipline with relevant experience)
- 5-10 years of experience in:
- Refining
- Upgrading
- Petrochemical
- Oil Sands
- Heavy industrial environments
- Hands-on experience facilitating:
- RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance)
- RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) assessments
- Fixed equipment reliability experience
- Solid stakeholder management and communication skills
- Willingness to relocate to Fort McMurray (site-based position)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using API 581 methodology
- Knowledge of:
- Damage mechanisms
- Corrosion/degradation assessment
- Probability of failure evaluation
- Risk-based maintenance strategies
