Job Description
To be eligible for Pomerleau’s internship program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
- Reside in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
- Be duly enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution or have graduated from such an institution within no more than six (6) months prior to the internship start date.

The HR Coordinator, Immigration Intern supports activities related to international mobility and immigration matters for employees and candidates. Working closely with the Human Resources team, managers, and external partners, they assist with the administrative management of immigration applications, coordinate required documentation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices that support international talent.
What you will do
- Assist with opening and managing immigration files (work permits)
- Monitor work permit expiration dates and other key deadlines.
- Update databases and maintain accurate records for international employees.
- Prepare renewal letters and other administrative documentation.
- Follow up on various requests with employees and external partners.
- Support the onboarding and integration of foreign workers.
- Contribute to the smooth administration of immigration processes and related activities.
This role could be for you if you have
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Law, Political Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in immigration and international mobility, with a desire to learn more about the laws, programs, and processes that support international talent.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a dynamic environment where immigration laws, regulations, and processes change frequently.
- Strong communication skills in both French and English, both written and verbal, to effectively follow up with employees and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
