Junior Software & Operations Developer

Company: Fintelics Technology Inc. / Snackphoria
Location: Toronto, ON — On-site
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: Starting at $20 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday

About the Role

Snackphoria is a growing technology-enabled vending and unattended-retail company. We are looking for a motivated junior developer who wants hands-on experience building real business software, integrating payment technology, and supporting daily operations.

You will help develop an internal ERP platform covering inventory, purchasing, order processing, fulfillment, delivery planning, and operational reporting. You will also assist with card-reader software integrations, terminal management systems, APIs, dashboards, and testing.

This is a hybrid technology and operations position—not a remote, development-only role. When customers visit our shop, you may also help answer questions, demonstrate equipment, and provide basic customer service.

Responsibilities

- Build and improve our internal ERP and operations-management software
- Develop inventory, purchasing, order-management, fulfillment, and transportation-management features
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting
- Develop web-based dashboards, internal tools, reports, and workflow automations
- Integrate software with payment terminals, payment-processor APIs, vending equipment, and third-party services
- Assist with card-reader configuration, testing, monitoring, and technical troubleshooting
- Work with management and operational employees to understand business requirements
- Convert manual and spreadsheet-based processes into scalable software workflows

- Maintain clear technical documentation and source-code repositories
- Test new features and resolve software or integration problems
- Assist customers visiting the shop and demonstrate products when required
- Help with other technical and operational tasks in a growing business

Qualifications

- Education, training, or practical experience in software development, computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with web-development fundamentals
- Experience with at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#
- Basic understanding of databases, APIs, and version control
- Comfortable using AI coding tools while independently reviewing and testing generated code
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies
- Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical people
- Comfortable working in a hands-on shop and warehouse environment
- Reliable and able to work on-site five days per week

Preferred but Not Required

- Experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, .NET, or similar technologies
- Experience with SQL databases and cloud platforms
- Familiarity with ERP, inventory, warehouse, logistics, or e-commerce systems
- Interest in payment terminals, vending machines, IoT devices, or embedded hardware

- Experience integrating REST APIs or third-party services
- Previous customer-service or retail experience
- Personal projects, GitHub repositories, or a software portfolio

Who This Role Is Best For

This position is well suited to a recent graduate, self-taught developer, or junior developer who wants broader experience than a traditional entry-level coding role. You should enjoy building practical solutions, learning how a business operates, and seeing your software used in real daily operations.

You do not need to know every technology already. We value initiative, resourcefulness, business understanding, and the ability to learn quickly.

Work Environment

- This is a fully on-site position
- Regular working schedule from Monday to Friday
- Work includes software development, hardware testing, operational observation, and occasional customer assistance
- The role may involve working around vending machines, payment terminals, inventory, and warehouse equipment

How to Apply

Please submit your résumé and briefly answer the following:

- What software applications or personal projects have you built?
- Which programming languages and frameworks are you most comfortable using?
- How have you used AI tools to support software development?
- Are you able to work on-site Monday to Friday?
- Please include a link to your GitHub profile, portfolio, or examples of your work, if available.

We thank all applicants for their interest. Candidates selected for the next stage will be contacted for an interview.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week

Perks:

- Mileage reimbursement
- Store discount
