Madill's IDA Pharmacy is a locally owned & operated independent pharmacy, that focuses on community-centered care. Madill's has been providing care to Frankford and Quinte West residents since 1923.
THE POSITION:
We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant/Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a full time, permanent position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answering the telephone & greeting patients in store
- Receiving and processing new & repeat prescriptions in a timely manner.
- Recording & inputting patient information and prescription information into the computer system (PTS/McKesson Propel program)
- Third Party adjudication/Drug plan billing (on-line)
- Accurate dispensing of prescription medications as ordered
- Inventory control and maintenance of pharmacy stock
- General patient inquiries including OTC and front shop products, referring to Pharmacist as necessary
- Handling patient prescription pickup and payments
- General cleaning tasks in the dispensary area as required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must have good organizational skills, be detail oriented, & great time-management skills
- Demonstrate assertive, but kind communication skills with patients & other healthcare professionals in person & on the phone
- Computer data entry skills
- Cash handling experience
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours as required
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a retail pharmacy as a Pharmacy Assistant/Pharmacy Technician (Preferred)
- Customer Service experience and cash handling experience
HOURS:
Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm
Saturday 9am - 4pm
WAGE:
Negotiable based on pharmacy-specific experience & registration with OCP if applicable.
