About Us

Uptown is a growing group of companies operating across financial services, mortgages, real estate, and other professional services.

We're looking for a creative, social-media-savvy Social Media & Content Coordinator to join our team part time and help bring fresh ideas to our brands, products, and services.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed a list of posts to schedule. We're looking for someone who genuinely understands social media, enjoys creating content, follows what's happening across different platforms, and can bring new ideas to the table.

About You

You live and breathe social media and understand that great content isn't the same on every platform.

You know what works on Instagram may need a completely different approach on TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, or X. You keep up with trends, emerging content styles, platform updates, and new creative tools—and you're able to recognize which trends make sense for a brand and which ones don't.

You're comfortable wearing multiple hats. One day you might be designing a social post, the next editing a Reel, brainstorming a campaign idea, writing a caption, scheduling content, or engaging with our online community.

You can take direction and work within an established brand, but you're also confident bringing forward your own ideas and saying, "Here's something we should try."

Most importantly, you're creative, curious, organized, and excited to make content people actually want to watch and engage with.

What You'll Do

Social Media & Community

- Help manage and maintain company social media profiles across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
- Schedule and publish social media content across multiple brands and platforms
- Monitor social profiles and actively engage with followers, comments, messages, and relevant accounts
- Help grow engagement and strengthen our brands' presence across social media
- Adapt content, captions, formats, and creative approaches for different platforms and audiences
- Stay current on social media trends, platform changes, trending formats, sounds, and emerging opportunities
- Identify opportunities for timely and relevant content

Content Creation

- Create engaging visual content including social graphics, short-form videos, Reels, TikToks, Stories, animations, and other digital content

- Edit raw video footage into polished, engaging short-form and long-form content
- Assist with photography and video content when required
- Write and edit social media captions, headlines, hooks, calls to action, and other marketing copy
- Repurpose existing content into new formats for different social platforms
- Maintain consistency in brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across content
- Create content efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail

Creative & Marketing

- Bring fresh, creative ideas to promote our products, services, people, and brands
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute new campaign, content, and video concepts
- Help develop creative approaches that make financial services, mortgages, real estate, and other topics more engaging and accessible
- Research competitors, social trends, and successful content to identify opportunities for our brands
- Collaborate with the marketing team and other departments to turn ideas into finished content
- Help build and maintain social media content calendars
- Review content performance and use insights to help improve future creative
- Explore new creative technologies and tools, including AI-powered content creation, video, and design platforms

What We're Looking For

- 1–2 years of experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing, or a related role
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
- Strong understanding of short-form video and what makes content engaging on social media
- Experience creating and editing social graphics and video content
- Comfortable using creative and editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms
- Strong writing and editing skills in English
- An eye for visual design, composition, branding, and storytelling

- Strong understanding of current social media trends and best practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Highly organized with robust attention to detail
- Comfortable taking direction, receiving feedback, and revising creative work
- Able to work collaboratively while also taking initiative and working independently
- Curious and motivated to learn new platforms, tools, and creative techniques

Nice to Have

- Photography and videography experience
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, or InDesign
- Experience with social media scheduling or management platforms
- Familiarity with AI-powered creative and video tools
- Understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics
- Experience with paid social media or digital advertising
- Basic understanding of SEO and how it relates to digital and social content
- Previous experience creating content for a company, agency, or multiple brands

Portfolio Required

We're interested in seeing what you can create.

Please include a portfolio or examples of your work with your application. This may include social media content, Instagram Reels, TikToks, videos, graphics, campaigns, photography, or other creative work you've produced.

We're less interested in a specific creative style and more interested in seeing your ideas, creativity, editing ability, and understanding of social content.
