About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and site-ready Procurement Officer for a contract position with an industrial electrical company supporting operations at the Teck Highland Valley Copper MLE mine site. This role is responsible for coordinating the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, rentals, subcontracted services, and project supplies while supporting field crews, project management, vendors, and site requirements. The successful candidate will help ensure procurement activities are timely, cost-effective, well documented, and aligned with safety, schedule, and operational priorities in an industrial mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate procurement activities for industrial electrical work on a mine site, including materials, tools, consumables, equipment rentals, subcontracted services, and project supplies.
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, field crews, vendors, and site contacts to confirm purchasing needs, delivery timelines, technical requirements, and site access constraints.
- Prepare and issue requests for quotations, compare supplier pricing and availability, and support purchasing recommendations based on cost, quality, lead time, and project requirements.
- Prepare purchase orders, track order status, expedite critical materials, and coordinate delivery to site or designated staging areas.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor communications, purchase documentation, packing slips, invoices, and related contract files.
- Support contract administration,



including tracking subcontractor deliverables, change orders, supplier performance, and project-related procurement issues.
- Assist with sourcing industrial electrical components and mine-site supplies such as cable, conduit, fittings, panels, controls, PPE, equipment, and specialty materials.
- Coordinate with accounting and project controls to help resolve invoice discrepancies, coding questions, purchase order changes, and cost tracking requirements.
- Support safe and compliant procurement practices by considering site standards, delivery requirements, documentation needs, and operational risks.

Required Qualifications

- Experience in procurement, purchasing, contract administration, materials coordination, or supply chain support, preferably in an industrial, construction, electrical, mining, or maintenance environment.
- Working knowledge of purchase orders, requests for quotations, vendor communications, delivery coordination, invoice reconciliation, and procurement documentation.
- Ability to understand technical purchasing needs and work with field teams to clarify specifications, quantities, substitutions, and lead times.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, urgent site needs, and changing project priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, site personnel,



project management, and accounting teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort working with procurement, accounting, project management, or inventory systems.
- Commitment to safe work practices and willingness to follow mine-site access, orientation, documentation, and safety requirements.

Preferred Assets

- Previous experience supporting industrial electrical contractors, mine sites, heavy industry, utilities, construction, shutdowns, or maintenance projects.
- Familiarity with electrical materials, instrumentation supplies, controls components, cable, conduit, fittings, rentals, and site logistics.
- Experience working with subcontractors, equipment rental companies, freight providers, and industrial suppliers.
- Knowledge of mine-site safety requirements, access procedures, delivery coordination, and documentation standards.
- Completion of, or progress toward, a recognized procurement, supply chain, contract management, or project coordination designation.

- Competitive hourly compensation of $27–$35 per hour, based on experience.
- 10-hour working days (7:00am-5:30pm on-site)
- 10 days on, 4 days off rotation
- Opportunity to work directly with project teams, field supervisors, vendors, and site personnel on operationally significant work.
- A practical role focused on keeping materials, services, and project support moving efficiently for site execution.
- Transportation to site is provided, but not paid

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kamloops, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
