The Welding Shop is currently hiring Structural Steel Fitters / CWB Welders to join our growing fabrication team.
Founded in 1969, The Welding Shop is an established fabrication shop known for quality workmanship and a strong commitment to safety. Many of our employees have been with us for 30+ years, creating a stable and experienced team environment.
This is a shop fabrication position working with structural and miscellaneous steel components.
Responsibilities
- Fit and assemble structural steel beams and columns
- Fabricate handrails and miscellaneous metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Fit, tack, and prepare steel components for welding
- Perform FCAW and SMAW welding
- Operate equipment including welders, grinders, and torches
- Maintain safe work practices and proper PPE
Requirements
- Valid CWB Certification
- Experience with FCAW and SMAW welding processes
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Experience fitting structural and miscellaneous steel
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Knowledge of shop safety practices and hazards
