Responsibilities
Import & Export Compliance
- Oversee all import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, HS codes, ECCN/export control classifications, certificates, Form 1/8130-3, and CoC.
- Ensure compliance with CBSA, US Customs, export control regulations, and international aviation shipping requirements.
- Resolve customs issues, documentation errors, and compliance gaps to prevent delays or financial penalties.
- Maintain internal procedures for international shipments and regulatory updates.
Logistics Operations & Vendor Management
- Manage couriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for domestic and international shipments.
- Resolve escalated issues such as misrouting, lost shipments, customs holds, delays, and documentation discrepancies.
- Establish and track performance for logistics vendors, conduct regular performance reviews.
- Implement process improvements to strengthen accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
Shipping Accuracy & Coordination
- Ensure outbound shipments meet all customer requirements for packaging, documentation, and traceability.
- Coordinate with warehouse, QA, procurement, sales, and customer service to ensure shipment readiness.
- Support AOG and high-priority orders with fast, accurate logistics execution.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring shipping or customs issues and implement corrective actions.
Customer & Internal Support
- Act as the point of escalation for logistics issues impacting customers.
- Provide proactive updates on import/export status, delays, and resolutions.
- Support internal teams on compliance questions, customs requirements, and shipping best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- 5-7+ years import/export or logistics experience (aviation/MRO preferred).
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations and international freight.
- Experience managing logistics vendors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
