Job Description
As the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Manager, you will assist NEFAB Canada sites, by implementing the SH&E; Management system, developing and implementing effective injury prevention programs, and ensuring compliance with company global policies and standards, and Ontario Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
Duties:
- Support sites in meeting applicable Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E;) requirements and implementing company SH&E; programs, policies, standards, and management systems
- Provide safety compliance support, guidance, and coaching to site leadership and employees
- Assess compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, regulations, company policies, standards, and requirements
- Identify workplace health and safety risks and hazards and recommend appropriate controls and corrective actions
- Advise operations leaders and employees on strategies to minimize workplace hazards and continuously improve health and safety performance
- Deliver training and coaching to site employees on health and safety requirements, programs, policies, and the SH&E; management system
- Conduct workplace health and safety inspections and participate in internal and external audits, as required
- Support the appropriate management, documentation, and reporting of workplace injuries, illnesses, incidents, and near misses, and coordinate with human resources when applicable
- Assist sites with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and regulatory inspections or inquiries
- Communicate SH&E; performance results, trends,
and key findings to site leadership and other relevant stakeholders
- Assist sites in maintaining accurate and up-to-date SH&E; records, including injury and illness logs and records required under OHSA, WSIB, and company policy, employee training and competency records, equipment inspection and maintenance records, other site-specific SH&E; documentation and records
- Assist sites with implementing corrective and preventive actions resulting from health and safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and track findings through to closure
- Organize and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings across assigned sites
- Partner with site leadership to establish, maintain, and continuously improve a strong health and safety culture and workplace setting
- Assist sites and regional leadership in preparing for and responding to regulatory inquiries, inspections, orders, and notices of violation issued by federal, provincial, and other applicable governmental health and safety authorities
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or similar certification considered an asset
- 3–5 years of experience in occupational health and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment with multi-site responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal health & safety legislation, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, and applicable Human Rights legislation
- Experience implementing SH&E; management systems, such as ISO 14001 considered an asset
- Proven experience leading incident investigations, conducting hazard and risk assessments, and delivering health and safety training to both hourly employees and management personnel
- Previous experience using web-based systems to support SH&E; programs considered an asset

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
