About Tiny Hands Club
Tiny Hands Club is a teacher-led after school program in Langley providing school-age children with a structured, engaging, and enriching experience beyond the school day.
Our programming includes hands-on science experiments, STEM and creative projects, group games, leadership activities, and other engaging experiences designed for children ages 5–12.
About the Role
We are looking for a confident, experienced, and highly dependable Program Manager to take the lead in running our after school program.
This is a key leadership position within Tiny Hands Club. The successful candidate must be comfortable taking ownership of the program and working with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for leading the children, directing and supporting staff, planning daily programming, managing transitions and routines, and ensuring the program runs smoothly from arrival through dismissal.
We are specifically looking for someone with previous experience working in an after school program, daycare, childcare program, recreation program, or similar group setting with children.
You should be someone who naturally takes initiative, can confidently make day-to-day decisions, and is able to step into a busy environment and take charge.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead on the day-to-day operation of the after school program with minimal supervision
- Plan, organize, and prepare weekly lesson plans and activities for children ages 5–12
- Lead engaging programming including science experiments, STEM activities, crafts, group games, and creative projects
- Lead children confidently through the daily schedule, including smooth transitions from one activity, lesson, or routine to the next
- Maintain structure, routines, expectations, and a positive program workplace
- Direct, support, and oversee other program staff throughout the day
- Delegate responsibilities and ensure staff understand their roles and daily expectations
- Mentor staff and provide guidance when challenges arise
- Manage staff scheduling, shift changes, and sick-call coverage as required
- Oversee school arrival/pickup routines, attendance, snack time, programming, clean-up, and dismissal
- Communicate professionally with parents and families when required
- Ensure the program space remains clean, organized, safe, and ready for daily activities
- Assist with occasional Mommy & Me programming, including sensory play and story-based activities
- Assist with occasional weekend birthday parties and special events
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Previous experience working in an after school program, daycare, childcare centre, recreation program, camp, or similar children's program
- Experience working with school-age children, ideally ages 5–12
- Emergency First Aid & CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
Considered an asset:
- Education or training in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Care, Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related field
- Previous experience as a daycare supervisor, program leader, camp leader, recreation leader, educational assistant, teacher, or childcare manager
Additional Requirements
- Must provide two professional references
- Must complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search issued within six months prior to the start date
Position Details
Regular Hours:
Monday–Friday, approximately 2:30 PM–5:30 PM
Additional daytime hours may occasionally be available for Mommy & Me classes, school breaks, Pro-D Days, camps, administration, lesson planning, and program preparation.
Weekend availability may occasionally be required for birthday parties or special events.
Expected Hours: Approximately 20–30 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
