Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed experiments and analyses to develop new food products or improve existing formulations using scientific methods.
- Evaluate food safety, shelf life, texture, flavor, and nutritional content through laboratory testing and sensory evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality assurance, manufacturing, and marketing to bring creative ideas from concept to production.
- Maintain records of experiments, procedures, and results in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite—Word for documentation, Excel for data analysis, and PowerPoint for presentations—to communicate findings effectively.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes,
and technological advancements in food science and technology.
- Support quality control processes by identifying potential issues early and implementing corrective actions to ensure product consistency.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a federally inspected meat processing facility in Canada.
- Robust practical knowledge of HACCP / PCP monitoring, cooking and cooling process.
- Strong knowledge in environmental monitoring, sanitation procedures, traceability, corrective actions, and CFIA complaince.
- Experience in RTE meat products, smokehouse operations and cooling validation.
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and ingredient functionality.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration across diverse teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Leadership qualities paired with strong time management skills to guide projects from inception through completion.This role is perfect for passionate professionals eager to make a tangible impact on the future of food.
Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
