Summary

Pacificom is looking for a proactive and customer oriented Low Voltage Lead Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for experienced professionals in building and servicing building security systems or those seeking an opportunity to apply and build their skills in a dynamic setting, focused on electronic access control, IP-based CCTV, burglar alarm monitoring, IP audio, IP Life Safety, and IT cabling and network infrastructure.

As a Low Voltage Lead Technician, you will be responsible for providing excellent system installs for our clients, with a primary focus on building security systems, IP audio and IT cabling infrastructure. You will also be exposed to system programming, commissioning, and developing valuable troubleshooting skills. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the functionality and reliability of building security and audio in healthcare and institutional environments across Western Canada, directly contributing to customer satisfaction. This role is primarily field work, performing on-site services at client locations and leading up to five (5) technicians in implementing our solutions.

Responsibilities





- Provide installation support and expertise, including diagnosis, installation, programming, commissioning and training of IP based electronic access control, CCTV, burglar alarm systems, Voice-over-IP based audio and life safety systems, and building structured cabling networks.
- Diagnose and resolve technical network issues (LAN/WAN), including connectivity, IP configurations, DHCP, DNS, and basic routing, ensuring proper system operation.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining clear, professional, and empathetic communication in all interactions.
- Perform on-site client visits for installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Security systems, Audio systems, IP telephony, and IT network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the team to build large and complex systems in new and retrofit construction environments.
- Assist with cabling installations (audio, network, or others), contributing to the overall infrastructure.
- Actively participate in team meetings to discuss solutions, improvements, and support/deployment strategies.
- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in professional sound, IP telephony, networking, and technical support.

Qualifications





- Practical knowledge and experience with installing IP-based security systems or a similar role, with a preference for experience in IP access control, IP CCTV, and burglar alarm systems.
- Experience with IP audio and life safety systems such as Nurse Call systems would be a valuable asset.
- Technical knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN), including TCP/IP, basic routing, firewalls, DHCP, and DNS would be an asset.
- Willingness and ability to perform regular field work throughout BC.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively, work independently, and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of cabling installation (audio, network) is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client locations.
- Be based / live in the Victoria BC area, or be willing to relocate.

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
