Position Summary

The Account Manager is a core member of the Market Development team and serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned portfolio following enrollment or the completion of a partnership agreement. The role is responsible for strengthening relationships, supporting onboarding and adoption, driving retention and renewals, and identifying opportunities for continued growth. The role also includes an inside-sales component focused on generating leads and referrals, activating properties, and expanding participation within GKG’s Sphere of Influence.

The Account Manager works primarily with corporate and regional stakeholders across GKG’s Sphere of Influence, including executives, directors, sustainability leaders, and other decision-makers at hotel brands, property management companies, ownership and operating groups, convention and visitors’ bureaus, destination marketing organizations, and other strategic hospitality partners. Through these relationships, the Account Manager helps activate properties, generate referrals and leads, expand portfolio participation, and deliver a seamless member journey.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management and Relationship Development

· Serve as the primary relationship owner for an assigned portfolio of accounts and partners.

· Build trusted relationships with executives, directors, sustainability leaders, and other key decision-makers across assigned accounts.

· Develop account plans that identify objectives, stakeholders, engagement strategies, risks, growth opportunities, and measures of success.

· Lead regular account meetings, portfolio updates, and quarterly or annual business reviews.

· Understand each account's priorities, operating model, sustainability goals, and barriers to participation.

· Own account engagement, retention, renewals, portfolio health, and member advocacy.

Portfolio Activation, Inside Sales and Growth

· Develop and execute partner-specific activation plans that increase property participation across assigned portfolios.

· Translate signed partnerships into property-level communications, information sessions,



enrollment support, and follow-up.

· Conduct inside-sales activities by working with corporate and regional partners to generate, qualify, and follow up on leads, referrals, and enrollment opportunities across their property portfolios.

· Identify gaps, underrepresented properties, and other opportunities to expand participation within assigned accounts.

· Communicate the GKG value proposition, conduct sales presentations, respond to prospective-member questions, and advance qualified opportunities through enrollment.

· Coordinate with the broader Market Development team when an prospect requires a new agreement, revised commercial terms, or executive involvement.

· Provide account insights and member feedback that inform GKG's broader market-development strategy.

Relationship Transition and Member Journey

· Lead the relationship transition following enrollment or agreement signature, including the welcome call, account-plan development, and internal handoff.

· Partner closely with Member Services, which owns operational onboarding, training, webinars, office hours, certification and audit support, technical support, and member inquiries.

· Track onboarding and adoption milestones from the account perspective and maintain clear communication with partner stakeholders.

· Identify and help remove relationship barriers while escalating operational or certification matters to the appropriate internal team.

· Capture member feedback and collaborate across teams to improve processes, communications, resources, and the overall member experience.

Performance and Internal Coordination

· Maintain accurate account, contact, opportunity, renewal, adoption, and engagement information in GKG's CRM.

· Track account health, certification progress, portfolio participation, retention, renewals, referrals, and growth opportunities.

· Use account and portfolio data to prioritize activity and recommend appropriate interventions.

· Prepare account plans, renewal outlooks, activity updates, and portfolio-growth forecasts.

· Partner with Marketing and Communications on campaigns, webinars, case studies, member stories, and partner resources.

· Represent GKG at account meetings, industry events, conferences, webinars, and partner activations.

Measures of Success

· Strong account engagement, satisfaction, retention,



and renewal.

· Increased participation and adoption across assigned portfolios.

· Growth in leads, referrals, and enrollments generated through assigned accounts and partner portfolios.

· Smooth relationship transitions and effective coordination with Member Services.

· Consistent business reviews, accurate CRM records, and disciplined execution of account plans.

· Effective cross-functional collaboration and measurable improvements to the member experience.

Qualifications and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

· Four or more years of experience in account management, customer or member success, partnership activation, business development, or a related B2B role.

· Account-management experience from another industry is welcome; hospitality-industry experience is strongly preferred.

· Experience supporting inside sales, lead generation, referral development, or portfolio-growth initiatives is preferred.

· Demonstrated experience building relationships with executives, directors, and other senior decision-makers within complex or multi-location organizations.

· Experience using CRM platforms and data to manage accounts and opportunities; HubSpot experience is preferred.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, and HubSpot.

· Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% within Canada and the United States, including possession of a valid passport and the ability to meet applicable cross-border entry requirements.

· Must be legally authorized to work in Canada or the United States, depending on the country of employment.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
