Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and HSE-oriented individual to join our team as an Offshore Mechanic to work on a client platform offshore NL. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge with applicable trade certification contributing to the successful execution of complex tasks in a dynamic offshore environment.
Responsibilities
- Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Responsible for following the planned maintenance system and to record it in the maintenance system software.
- Responsible for conducting regular checks to verify if all mechanical equipment is in a safe working condition.
- Responsible for stock management and for ordering all the spare parts related to mechanical equipment.
- Supervise tasks in accordance with good engineering practice and Company policy.
- Monitor any mechanical equipment supplied by other contractors or sub-contractors to ensure that it is suitable for uses within the areas desired.
- Ensure that all equipment under their control complies with statutory requirements and is maintained at all times in a secure condition or is otherwise completely withdrawn from service.
- Plan maintenance and repairs so as to minimize the effect on the drilling operation, bring to the attention any activities that cannot be completed or scheduled within the planned time frame.
- Safeguard the rig tools and instruments in their care.
- Recommend, and when required embody, modifications to equipment or systems to enhance safety, improve rig performance or comply with statutory notices.
- Carry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictate.
- Stand-in for alternative work discipline as required
- Update/modify any drawings, sketches or information on existing and replacement equipment as requiredAssist with rigging operations to safely lift, move, and position heavy equipment or materials
- Perform mechanical tasks such as inspecting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment
- Experience supervising a team in a marine environment
- Experience in subsea asset deployment and retrieval
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents or hazards
- Document work activities accurately and report any discrepancies or concerns to supervisors
Requirements
- Applicable trades certification
- Strong mechanical knowledge, including understanding of machinery components and systems
- Ability to read technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- HSE safety leadership
