Deerland Equipment is a locally operated John Deere dealership with locations in Athabasca, Fort Saskatchewan, and Vegreville. We combine the resources of an established dealership with a friendly, team-oriented work environment.

We are currently looking for a Service Writer to join our Athabasca team. This is a great prospect for someone who enjoys working with people, is organized, and has strong communication and customer service skills.

Previous Service Writer or Service Advisor experience is an asset, but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Experience in customer service, administration, or working in a dealership workplace is an asset.

The Service Writer will work closely alongside the Service Manager and service team, assisting customers with their service needs, preparing and maintaining work orders, communicating repair information, and supporting the day-to-day administration of the service department.

Your Responsibilities

- Work directly with customers by phone, email, and in person to understand their service needs.
- Create and maintain work orders for agricultural and turf equipment.
- Gather and document information about equipment problems and repair needs.
- Provide customers with updates regarding repairs, estimates, parts, and expected completion times.
- Review completed work orders for accuracy before billing.
- Review warranty work orders according to John Deere requirements.
- Keep customers informed of changes or delays during the repair process.
- Help ensure customers receive a positive experience throughout the service process.




- Receive new equipment and complete the required inspection and documentation.
- Work alongside the Service Manager and service team to support daily service department activities.
- Assist with other service department duties as required.
