Job Summary
We are seeking an Apprentice Electrician of minimum 3rd year to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems while learning the trade under the guidance of experienced electricians. with a diverse skillset to support our various small and medium commercial projects throughout the Fraser Valley. As a general contractor, Ryder Electric’s involvement begins at the earliest stages of design through to client occupancy. We work with a wide range of commercial projects to light industrial and commercial renovations.

Duties

- Troubleshoot, identifies and repairs fault issues with electrical and electrical systems
- Develop a strong understanding of each contract’s scope/specifications/Issued for Construction Drawings/Inspection and Test Plans and contractor prepared drawings/submittals.
- Pull wire through conduits steel stud and wood frame buildings. Be able to bend conduit up to 1 1/4”.
- Assist in installing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of installed components and maintain VFD’s
- Quality, professionalism, and organizational skills are an asset
- Test circuits to ensure integrity and safety




- Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors
- Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels and transformers
- Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
- Properly handle job materials including unloading, stacking and relocation of materials; and perform an onsite inventory of job materials.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols at all times

Requirements

- Drivers Licence (Required)
- Indentured Electrical Apprentice (3rd year)
- Ability to work safely on own
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced electricians
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment
