Duties & Responsibilities
* Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, electrical codes, and client specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
* Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
* Install AC/DC drives, PLCs, 480V power, 120V control circuits, 4160V switchgear, transformers, motors, starters, relays, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
* Install receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
* Install electrical panels, conduit, protective devices, switches, and related equipment.
* Fabricate, install, and/or run conduit, 3-phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting, and panel work.
* Work on systems operating at 240V, 480V wye, 480V delta, and 4160V switchgear, transformers, and motors using electrical drawings and test instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, and PCs.
* Ensure the safety of apprentices under your direction, identify crew safety needs, participate in toolbox meetings, assist with Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), and participate in safety meetings and incident investigations when required.
* Work with the Lead Hand and Foreman to monitor and assess apprentice competency and ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
* Provide material information to the Lead Hand for requisitioning supplies required for Field Installed Work Packages (FIWP).
* Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project quality standards.
* Comply with Health & Safety Manual standards and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Work Conditions
* Full time: 40–50 hours per week
* Flexible schedule
* Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications.
* Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
* Must be willing to travel to work sites.
Requirements
* 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Electrical Apprentice or Journeyperson.
* Proficient in lockout/tagout fundamentals.
* Familiarity with the work scope of other trades.
* Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
* Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) certification.
* Strong work ethic and reliability.
* Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
* Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Pay: $22.00-$42.00 per hour
