Priority Health Clinic is a high volume Family Health Organization and Urgent Care Clinic serving Pickering and the surrounding area.

The Position

We are looking for an experienced Medical Office Assistant who brings strong judgment, accuracy, and reliability to a busy clinic.

The right person can quickly identify priorities, remain calm when several things are happening at once, and recognize when an issue can be resolved independently and when it needs to be escalated. This is not an entry level position. Applicants must have at least five years of recent, hands on MOA experience in a busy health care setting.

The majority of scheduled hours will be weekday daytime shifts. Evening and weekend coverage is also part of this position and will be scheduled as needed.

What You Will Do

● Register and check in patients while ensuring demographics, OHIP, IFHP, and consent documentation are complete and accurate

● Coordinate patient flow with physicians, nurses, and administrative team members

● Book, reschedule, and manage appointments using TELUS CHR

● Manage patient calls, messages, and voicemails with professionalism and sound judgment

● Document clear, complete, and accurate patient messages in the EMR

● Monitor and action incoming faxes and emails, ensuring time sensitive concerns are identified and escalated appropriately

● Complete patient checkout, private billing, payment processing, and receipt issuance

● Support family medicine, after hours, and walk in urgent care workflows

● Respond to patient questions, concerns,



and escalations calmly and professionally

● Complete assigned administrative tasks, opening or closing duties, and clinic checklists

● Maintain patient privacy and comply with PHIPA and all confidentiality requirements

What You Bring

● Medical Office Administration diploma, or equivalent experience

● Minimum five years of recent, hands on MOA experience in a busy health care environment

● Experience in family medicine, urgent care, or a busy multi physician clinic

● Strong working knowledge of electronic medical records

● TELUS CHR experience is a strong asset

● Knowledge of OHIP, IFHP, and private billing processes

● Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

● Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities

● Reliable attendance, punctuality, and follow through

● Transparent and professional written and verbal communication

● The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team

● A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment

Schedule Requirements

● Full time, approximately 35 to 40 hours per week

● Most scheduled hours will be weekday daytime shifts





● Availability for weekday days, weekday evenings, and some weekends is required

● Weekday shifts may be scheduled between 7:45am and 8pm

● Weekend shifts are generally scheduled between 8:30am and 3pm

● Closing shifts may extend until the last patient has left and closing duties are complete

● Scheduling is based on clinic needs and is not limited to fixed Monday to Friday daytime hours

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
