Looking to be part of a dynamic team? The Holiday Inn & Suites Calgary South- Conference Centre is now hiring for the position of Overnight House Attendant. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Calgary South's newest hotel that includes 153 rooms, over 7200 square feet of conference space, a full service Pacini Restaurant and Lounge, pool, waterslide, spa, and fitness centre.

Summary

The House Person is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public areas or guest rooms of the hotel. This position responds to requests for cleaning as well as assisting in meeting room set up, maintaining housekeeping carts or laundry. The House Person may also deliver requested service items to guest rooms upon request from the front desk or housekeeping department.

Main duties

- Clean public areas, including lobby, pool area, public restrooms, and hallways keeping areas tidy, removing trash, recycling, dirty linens, restocking supplies and linens, as well as identifying and reporting maintenance issues.
- Clean windows, vacuum rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture, sweeping or mopping hard surface flooring.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, sorting linens, and restocking housekeeping storage areas on each floor.
- General tidy up of parkade areas which involves sweeping
- Shovelling sidewalks and maintaining main entrance areas with grit or salt
- Provide set up and clean up (or tear down) when meeting rooms are booked.
- Load and unload laundry.
- Deliver items to guest rooms such as hair dryer, extra towels, cribs, cots, mail, packages, or personal guest items to guest rooms.
- May be required to do general laundry duties in evenings and aiding in laundry department.




- Assist in stockroom by lifting/storing/removing heavy supplies and restocking of cleaning supplies.
- Assist Room Attendants with seasonal cleaning procedures.
- Report found articles, damaged or vandalized items to the Housekeeper Supervisor.
- Our hotel properties are a shared responsibility for the entire team, and as such this position may handle other general duties as required.

Skills and requirements

- High School diploma or Grade 12 Equivalency (GED) with some experience in housekeeping in hospitality industry or similar preferred.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other employees.
- Able to work independently, strong work ethic and physical stamina.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements consistent with hospitality sector.
- Good organizational and problem solving abilities.
- Valuable English verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning/sanitizing procedures.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Working environment, physical condition and capacities

· Indoors in a busy, customer focused environment.

· Standing, walking for extended periods and frequent,

· Must be capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching for periods on each shift.

· Operate motorized cleaning equipment.

· Capable to performing physical duties with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
