Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing structural components with precision and expertise. Your mechanical knowledge, welding skills, and ability to interpret blueprints will be essential in delivering high-quality projects on time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction and manufacturing projects, ensuring safety and accuracy at every step.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately assemble structural components
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (MIG and TIG), plasma cutters, and press brake machines to shape, cut, and fit metal parts
- Perform rigging and crane operations safely to lift and position heavy materials during assembly
- Measure dimensions precisely with calipers and other measuring tools to ensure components meet specifications
- Conduct machining tasks as needed for component fabrication or adjustments
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations, including welding, cutting, and assembly processes
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Skills
- Proficiency in rigging, crane operation, and blueprint reading
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in welding MIG , plasma cutting, and machining
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and effectively
- Knowledge of ductwork installation and general construction practices
- Experience with schematics interpretation and assembly procedures
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication
- Familiarity with forklift operation (certification preferred) for material handling
- Understanding of manufacturing processes related to structural assembly
- Ability to work safely in a rapid-paced environment while adhering to health and safety regulations
