Position Summary
Homeland Fencing is currently seeking a highly qualified, safety-focused Fencing Supervisor for the Yellowhead pipeline fence installation project. The successful candidate will oversee on-site crew operations, manage logistics, and ensure all installations comply strictly with industrial standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. We are looking for a decisive leader with a proven track record in heavy civil or industrial fencing environments.
Project Operational Schedule
- Project Status: This position is directly tied to the construction schedule and operational demands of the Yellowhead Pipeline Project.
- Continuity of Work: This is a project-based role that includes high-volume operational periods with extensive overtime opportunities. Candidates must anticipate temporary operational stand-downs dictated by weather, pipeline progression, or prime contractor timelines.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Wage: $38-45 per hour
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with provincial regulations; After 8 hours daily / 44 regular hours weekly
- Shift Rotation: 6 days on, 1 day off. 11 hours per day
- Company Vehicle: A fully equipped company vehicle is provided for on-site execution and project-related travel.
- Subsistence: LOA
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Management: Direct, mentor, and coordinate the daily activities of skid steer operators and field labourers.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce all pipeline and prime contractor safety protocols. Lead daily toolbox meetings and hazard assessments.
- Blueprint & Layout Execution:
Interpret engineered blueprints to accurately layout and survey fence lines along the pipeline right-of-way.
- Logistics Oversight: Manage material staging, equipment deployment, and supply lines to optimize productivity.
- Reporting & Administration: Complete accurate daily progress logs, equipment inspection records, and crew timesheets.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience specifically within industrial fencing, civil earthworks, or pipeline infrastructure.
- Mandatory Certifications: PCST/Pipeline Construction Safety Training(online), H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level 2 (online), Standard First Aid, WHMIS 2015 (online), TDG (online)

- Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean commercial driver's abstract.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Must successfully pass a mandatory pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fitness-for-duty assessment.
- Leadership Capabilities: Strong conflict-resolution skills, clear communication, and the ability to solve complex in office technical challenges.

- Ability to perform physical tasks and lead teams in remote terrain and diverse outdoor weather conditions.
- Flexibility to accommodate extended shifts and changing schedules driven by project demands.
