Responsibilities

Assist the optometrist during patient examinations by preparing necessary equipment and materials.
Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems to accurately document patient information, test results, and treatment plans.
Provide excellent patient care by greeting patients warmly, answering questions, and guiding them through procedures.
Support front desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling patient check-in/check-out processes.
Maintain optical inventory, including lens and frame selection assistance, and ensure proper sterilization of equipment.
Utilize medical terminology knowledge to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers.




Contribute to pediatrics’ eye care by helping with specialized testing and providing age-appropriate support for young patients.

Requirements

Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, especially within ophthalmology or optometry practices.
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye health and general healthcare procedures.
Experience working at a front desk or in retail sales/ customer service roles demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of optical products, including lenses and frames, is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
A genuine passion for patient care, especially pediatrics, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
