Looking for a reliable morning baker & prep cook for our sandwich shop. You will be a core member of the team.
25-35 hours per week.
Duties
- Make and bake baguettes (Vietnamese style)
- Prep meats/proteins (chicken, pork, beef, tofu)
- Prep vegetables, sauces, pickles
- Follow recipes and portioning standards accurately
- Complete daily prep lists and catering prep as needed
- Wash dishes and keep the kitchen clean and sanitized
- Keep ingredients, fridges and prep areas organized
- Monitor inventory and communicate items that need to be ordered or replenished
- Label, date and properly store prepared food
- Follow food safety and kitchen procedures
- Maintain our standards for quality, cleanliness and organization
Experience
- Any prior commercial kitchen experience in an asset (dishwashing, prep cook etc.)
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling practices within the food industry
- Knife skills. Experience using a mandolin, robot coupe, meat slicer, ability to sharpen knives etc are all assets.
- Hands-on experience with baking is preferred (bread, desserts etc.)
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer engagement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
- Works well with others and contributes to a positive team setting
- Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine is an asset but is not necessary

Previous baking or kitchen experience is an asset, but we're willing to train the right person.
