JOB TITLE: Multi-Media Producer

JOB SUMMARY: Multimedia Producer responsible for creating engaging, accurate news content across digital and social platforms. You will collaborate with journalists and digital teams to develop multimedia stories using text, images, graphics and video while monitoring social media, audience analytics and emerging trends to drive engagement.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

· Bring the news of the day to life through engaging stories and content tailored to the way people discover and consume news across different platforms.

· Work alongside reporters, editors and digital developers to create compelling, easy-to-navigate stories using a mix of text, photos, graphics and video.

· Bring your own ideas to the table and collaborate with editors to develop new projects and ways of telling stories, while keeping accuracy, fairness and deadlines at the heart of your work.

· Find, verify and share user-generated content that adds perspective and helps tell the stories that matter to our community.

· Connect with our audience on social media, spotting opportunities for new content, sharing our journalism and encouraging meaningful conversation.

· Use audience insights and analytics to understand what’s resonating and help shape what we create next.

· Be a collaborative teammate who’s ready to jump in, support colleagues and take on new opportunities as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS:





· Post-secondary journalism accreditation or equivalent experience.

· Solid news judgment; proven ability to manage fast-moving information.

· Familiarity digital storytelling tools. Direct experience with WordPress and/or HTML an asset.

· Proficiency with Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms.

· Experience working with data to create visualizations such as maps, charts, graphs and timelines an asset.

· Able to work a variety of shifts -- including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays -- under deadline pressure.

· Able to work both independently and collaboratively. Skilled at multi-tasking, critical thinking and problem solving.

· Passion for journalism, storytelling and design.

Pay: $1,030.74-$1,471.90 per week
