We are seeking a dedicated Laser Operator/Machine Operator to join our clients manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining various precision machinery to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with CNC laser cutting and other machining processes. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, plasma cutters, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other related equipment to produce precise parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration on machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, hand tools, and measurement devices to verify dimensions and adherence to standards
- Assemble finished components as required, ensuring proper fit and finish
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot machine issues and improve production efficiency
- Valid forklift experience would be an asset
Skills
- Experience with welding, assembly, and mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings
- Familiarity with hand tools, calipers, and basic math skills for precise measurements
- Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and adherence to safety protocols
- Experience operating cranes and forklifts is a plus for material handling
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and assembly techniques
