Landscape Construction Labourer – Landscape Construction
Location: Vancouver, BC
Start Date: Immediately
We are a Vancouver-based Landscape Construction & Fencing company delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects. We’re looking for a motivated Landscape Construction Labourer who is physically fit, dependable, and interested in building a long-term career in landscape construction.
This is a hands-on labour position where you’ll work alongside experienced Landscape Technicians and learn the skills required to advance into a Landscape Technician position. We’re looking for someone who is willing to work hard, learn, and take on more responsibility as their skills develop.
What You’ll Do
- Perform general labour and physical work required for landscape construction projects
- Perform excavation, demolition, site preparation, grading, and base preparation
- Install paving stones, large-format slabs, and other hardscape materials under the direction of experienced technicians
- Build retaining walls using segmental block, natural stone, and timber
- Install drainage and site servicing systems
- Set up and tear down the job site daily, including loading, unloading, and organizing tools and equipment
- Maintain and care for company tools and equipment, including cleaning and basic maintenance
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and tidy throughout the workday
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials and equipment
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintain job site safety and quality standards
- Follow direction from Landscape Technicians and Foremen
- Learn proper construction techniques with the goal of progressing into a Landscape Technician role
What We’re Looking For
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding physical work throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold
- Robust work ethic and willingness to maintain a productive pace
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in landscape construction
- Able to take direction and follow instructions
- Takes pride in keeping tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Able to communicate effectively in English
- Previous construction, landscaping, or labour experience is an asset, but not required
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license is an asset
- Interest in pursuing an apprenticeship or long-term career in the landscape construction industry is an asset
Career Development
This position is intended to be a starting point for someone who wants to become a skilled Landscape Technician.
As you develop your skills and demonstrate the right attitude, you’ll have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and learn:
- Paving stone installation
- Base preparation and grading
- Retaining wall construction
- Drainage installation
- Equipment operation
- Layout and construction techniques
- Basic carpentry and masonry
Our goal is to train and promote from within. The right person can progress from:
Labourer → Landscape Technician → Senior/Lead Technician
Pay & Benefits
- $25–$30/hour, based on experience and skill level

Hours: Full-time | 35–45 hrs/week (seasonal variation)
Work Area: Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond
Priority will be given to candidates who currently live in Vancouver or are willing to relocate to Vancouver.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
