Location: Toronto or Bruce County, Ontario
On-Site: Hybrid, 2 days on site in Toronto or Bruce Power office
Employment Type: Contract
Project Duration: Expected to begin August/September 2026 and continue through late 2027 or early 2028
Security Clearance: Active OPG / Bruce Power site clearance required
Experience Level: Junior, Intermediate or Senior
Hourly Rate: $50–$110/hour (Depending on experience)

About the Chance

We are seeking Civil Engineers with OPG / Bruce Power site experience to support several upcoming nuclear design projects. This opportunity is well suited to individuals who have worked in positions such as Oversight Engineer (OE), Assistant Design Engineer (ADE), or Field Team Lead (FTL).

Successful candidates will work as part of an experienced civil design team and support the development and implementation of plant modifications. Candidates with strong field experience will have the opportunity to expand their design capabilities through training and mentorship from qualified engineering leads.

Key Responsibilities

- Support civil design activities for nuclear plant modifications.
- Review civil/structural drawings, specifications, calculations and engineering work packages.
- Participate in field walkdowns, inspections and constructability reviews.
- Support field execution, installation activities and outage work.
- Address field changes and technical issues that arise during implementation.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations and other project stakeholders.




- Ensure engineering work complies with applicable nuclear procedures, codes and standards.
- Support engineering change control and design closeout activities.
- Provide technical support for civil and structural modifications within the plant.

Minimum Requirements

- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years of practical engineering experience.
- Active OPG / Bruce Power site security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience working within a nuclear generating station.
- Experience supporting or leading field execution, walkdowns, inspections, modifications or outage activities.
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications and engineering work packages.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to work from either Toronto or Bruce County.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with civil/structural balance-of-plant structures, systems and components.
- Familiarity with CSA N285 and CSA N289.
- Knowledge of nuclear engineering change control and design processes.
- Experience with Engineering Change Control (ECC), structural analysis or support design.
- Knowledge of civil modifications, concrete structures, anchorage, embedded components or structural supports.
- Previous experience in an OE, ADE or FTL capacity.
- Experience supporting nuclear modifications, outage work or field engineering activities.

Pay: $50.00-$110.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
