About the role

B&M; Canada Appliances Inc. is an established appliance repair and replacement company serving residential customers, property managers and commercial accounts across Ottawa and Gatineau. We are contracting a licensed gas and refrigeration technician to handle sealed-system and gas appliance calls dispatched by our office.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair sealed-system failures: compressor replacement, brazing, evacuation, refrigerant charging, leak detection

- Service refrigerators, freezers, ice makers and wine coolers

- Diagnose and repair residential gas appliances (ranges, cooktops, ovens and gas dryers), including valve, regulator and orifice work, conversions, and leak testing to code

- Provide clear repair options and estimates to customers

- Source and purchase the parts each job requires

- Collect diagnostic and labour fees

- Test appliances after repair and confirm safe operation

- Submit service reports, invoices and photos through our dispatch system

- Honour the labour warranty on your own completed work

Required qualifications

- Valid gas technician licence: TSSA G2 or G3 (Ontario), or the Quebec equivalent for work in Gatineau

- Refrigerant handling / ODP certification

- Demonstrated sealed-system repair experience

- Own registered business, tools, diagnostic equipment and reliable vehicle

- Commercial general liability insurance, minimum $500,000,



maintained throughout the engagement

- Smartphone with internet access

- Legally authorized to work in Canada

Preferred qualifications

- 313D or 313A refrigeration and air conditioning licence

- 3+ years of appliance repair experience

- Strong customer service and sales ability

What we provide

- 50% profit split on every completed job: the job total minus the cost of parts, split evenly, paid bi-weekly

Contractor terms

This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, WSIB coverage, insurance, licences and business expenses, and are responsible for the workmanship and results of their own repairs. B&M; Canada Appliances provides leads and dispatch but does not supervise day-to-day repair methods. Full terms are set out in our Independent Contractor Agreement, provided before signing.
