Contract Counsellor Opportunity

About Lokahi Wellness Collective

Lokahi Wellness Collective was founded on the belief that healing happens best in spaces where people feel a sense of belonging, balance, and room to grow. Lokahi (loh-kah-hee) is a Hawaiian term representing harmony between the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of self. We approach mental health holistically and relationally, recognizing that meaningful change happens when people feel supported, respected, and empowered.

Our practice serves individuals in person in Kelowna and across the Okanagan Valley, as well as clients throughout British Columbia and Canada via online counselling. We are a values-led, clinician-centred group practice that prioritizes ethical care, sustainability, and the well-being of both clients and counsellors.

About the Role

Lokahi Wellness Collective is inviting counsellors to join our growing group practice. This opportunity is best suited to clinicians who value autonomy alongside community, and who want to practice in a supportive setting without the pressures of running a solo business.

This is a contract opportunity based in Kelowna with the use of a shared office space. The practice provides referrals, marketing visibility, and administrative infrastructure, allowing clinicians to focus on their clinical work.

We are seeking a clinician who is trauma-informed and has a strong understanding of how the nervous system impacts healing and therapeutic change. Training or experience in one or more trauma-focused or relational modalities—such as EMDR, IFS, DBR, somatic therapies, and/or couples counselling—would be a strong complement to the team. However, a clearly defined specialty is not required at the outset; curiosity, ongoing learning, and thoughtful clinical development are highly valued.

This is a contract-based role located in Kelowna, offering:

· In-person counselling in shared office space

· Some online/virtual counselling opportunities alongside in-person work

You will have the freedom to work in alignment with your clinical interests and values, while being supported by a practice that offers referrals, marketing visibility, and practice infrastructure.

- Value connection, collaboration, and integrity in your work
- Want the freedom of private practice without feeling isolated
- Are interested in being part of a practice that encourages growth, learning, and sustainability
- Appreciate leadership that is transparent, respectful, and human

What You’ll Be Doing

- Providing individual or couples counselling to adults (and/or other populations aligned with your scope)
- Maintaining ethical, professional, and trauma-informed clinical practice

What We Offer

- Flexible schedule – you choose your availability and caseload
- Referrals and marketing support (volume may fluctuate)
- Administrative and billing support
- Use of a secure electronic health record system
- Clinical consultation and collegial support
- Opportunities for professional growth,

including future supervision or program development
- A practice culture rooted in trust, autonomy, and mutual respect

Compensation

This role uses a practice infrastructure fee + tiered fee-split contract structure, designed to balance shared overhead with increasing earning potential as caseloads grow. The fee-split structure applies to clinical services and related qualified work associated with client care. We recognize that compensation structures can feel personal and nuanced, and we are always happy to talk this through in conversation.

Qualifications

- Registered or qualifying as an RCC, CCC, RSW, or RP, and in good standing with the appropriate regulatory body
- Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Experience providing therapy to adults and/or adolescents
- Comfortable offering both in-person and virtual counselling sessions
- Eligible to practice independently in British Columbia (and/or Canada for online work)
