Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance staff and coordinating daily maintenance operations within the facility. This role ensures that all production and support equipment is properly installed, inspected, maintained, and repaired in accordance with safety standards, preventative maintenance programs, and operational requirements.

The position provides hands-on technical support while leading a maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support overall production efficiency and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance staff to ensure efficient and cost-effective completion of work
- Conduct daily shift meetings to review issues, assign tasks, and communicate operational priorities
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and unscheduled maintenance requirements as needed
- Execute preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagnostics and repairs
- Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and work orders to complete maintenance tasks
- Diagnose equipment issues, repair or replace components, and perform operational testing and adjustments
- Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and material handling equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work environments
- Coordinate and oversee contractor work and capital improvement projects as required
- Monitor plant systems and equipment to identify issues and improvement opportunities
- Prioritize and manage maintenance work orders and scheduled tasks to meet deadlines
- Support onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of maintenance staff
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation




- Operate computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for scheduling and tracking work
- Support health, safety, and quality assurance initiatives, addressing urgent concerns promptly
- Participating in employee performance discussions and support team development
- Stay current with maintenance technologies, tools, and industry best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a trade apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred
- Mechanical or electrical trade certification considered an asset
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in maintenance or skilled trades
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS software
- Solid understanding of workplace safety regulations and compliance standards
- Proven leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply maintenance procedures
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as requirements

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and physical activity throughout shifts
- Work in industrial or production environments
- Good manual dexterity and ability to safely operate tools and equipment

Compensation

At Chapman’s, compensation is guided by a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes and rewards individual contributions.

Salary / Wages

$85,000 to $140,000 salary range

In addition to wages, employees will be eligible for:
