Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction painting and carpentry, with the ability to read blueprints and perform caulking tasks. As a Taper, you will be responsible for finishing drywall and ensuring that surfaces are prepared for painting. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship will contribute to the overall quality of our projects.
Duties
- Apply tape to joints between drywall sheets to create a smooth surface for finishing.
- Use joint compound to fill seams and nail holes, ensuring a seamless finish.
- Sand surfaces to prepare them for painting, achieving a professional look.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including painters and carpenters, to ensure project timelines are met.
- Perform caulking around windows, doors, and other openings as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience drywall taper
- Minimum 2 years of experience needed
- Ability to read blueprints effectively.
- Experience with caulking and finishing techniques is preferred.
- Maintenance Person experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in various construction tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship skills.
