Martushev Logging Ltd is currently seeking a dedicated Nightshift Truck and Trailer Mechanic for our Whitecourt, AB operation. This vital role is responsible for ensuring our commercial trucks and trailers are safe, reliable, and ready for operation during night shifts. Key Responsibilities
Truck & trailer maintenance
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and scheduled inspections
Carry out repairs on components such as: Brakes, suspension, steering systems Drivetrain and powertrain systems Tires and wheel components Lights and electrical systems Hydraulics and air systems
Diagnostic and troubleshooting Identify mechanical and electrical faults using shop tools and diagnostics Inspect vehicles systematically to diagnose root causes, not just symptoms Provide recommendations for repairs and parts requirements
Repairs and service quality
Complete mechanical repairs to spec and in accordance with safety standards
Test components/systems where applicable after repairs Ensure proper documentation of all work completed
Safety and compliance Follow all shop safety procedures and hazard controls Maintain clean, organized work areas
Adhere to regulatory and internal requirements for inspections and maintenanceParts and inventory support
Assist with parts identification and communicate ordering needs Use tools and equipment properly to reduce delays and downtime
Shift Schedule
Nightshift : 8 days on / 6 days off

Qualifications / Requirements
Experience as a mechanic working on *trucks and/or trailers (preferred)
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and handle multiple repair priorities
Safety mindset and attention to detailFamiliarity with common truck/trailer systems, including: Air brake systems Hydraulic systems Electrical troubleshooting (lights, wiring, sensors, etc.)
Ability to perform physically demanding work as required in a shop environment
Relevant trade certification is an asset (e.g., Journeyperson / apprenticeship / equivalent experience)
