Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Full-Time | $28.00–$38.00 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time position for a skilled, dependable mechanic who is confident diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and able to troubleshoot equipment efficiently to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and equipment performance issues
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment
- Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, and other components
- Complete routine inspections, servicing, and scheduled maintenance
- Identify worn or damaged components and recommend necessary repairs
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for operation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Assist with emergency or unexpected equipment repairs when required

Equipment Experience

Experience working with equipment such as:

- Excavators
- Bulldozers
- Motor Graders
- Tractor Loader Backhoes
- Front-End Loaders
- Skid Steers
- Trucks and other diesel-powered equipment





Qualifications

- Previous professional experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or similar role
- Robust knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs
- Ability to safely use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable, dependable, and safety-conscious
- Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic certification or equivalent experience is an asset
