Duties
- Safely operate your own commercial truck to transport freight across designated routes, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct routine inspections of your vehicle, including brakes, tires, lights, and engine components, performing basic automotive repairs as needed to maintain optimal performance
- Verify shipment documentation, coordinate with dispatchers for route planning, and ensure timely delivery of freight to customers
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo details in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road
- Assist with warehouse operations when required, including forklift operation for loading/unloading freight
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
