Pizza Cook – Daphne Restaurant

Daphne is an exciting contemporary American concept located in Toronto’s downtown Financial District. Daphne offers a true expression of American cuisine, using modern cooking techniques based around a live fire grill. The Pizza Cook is responsible for day-to-day food preparation, dough handling, and executing pizzas to Daphne standards. Our Culinary Team Members show strong attention to detail in all of their work. Cleanliness is key and maintained throughout service, ensuring every guest request is handled with care. Working with a team-first mentality and going above and beyond is something our staff does proudly.

Daphne prides itself in providing the Culinary Team with cross-training opportunities for all positions across INK Entertainment venues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Performs delegated tasks from the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and General Manager.
- Manages day-to-day food preparation and execution of the pizza station according to Daphne standards.
- Prepares food from scratch according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set out by the leadership team.
- Prepares ingredients with great technique following safe food handling procedures at all times.
- Maintains a prep list of station duties and takes effective notes for station setup and service.
- Maintains a clean, organized station at all times, without exception.
- Follows the FIFO method to maximize product freshness.
- Assists in food inventory control and restocks low items during shifts.
- Cleans food prep areas, equipment,



and utensils while strictly adhering to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines.
- Reports any equipment or utensil malfunctions to the Chef on duty.
- Operates standard kitchen equipment with caution and care.
- Performs all opening and closing assignments as instructed.
- Adheres to Health and Safety policies, WHMIS, and MSDS guidelines.
- Works collaboratively with the Culinary Team, treating all colleagues with respect and dignity.
- Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

- 2–4 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant.
- 1–2 years of dedicated pizza cooking experience required.
- Culinary diploma is considered an asset.
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements:

- Able to spend 100% of the shift standing and walking.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Schedule & Location:

- Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
- Schedule: Day shift, Evening shift, Night shift, Mondays to Fridays, and Weekends as needed.
- Location: Toronto, ON (Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work).
- Compensation: Salary/wage is dependent on experience.
